7th Session of the Intergovernmental Joint Committee (Czech Republic – Republic of Serbia)

     

On 11 and 12 December 2013, the 7th Session of the Joint Committee on Economic Cooperation between the Czech Republic and the Republic of Serbia was held in Prague. The Republic of Serbia in the sense of government-approved Export Strategy of the Czech Republic (2012-2020) has been selected as one of the 12 priority countries. The guarantor of the intergovernmental agreement on economic cooperation on Czech side was the Ministry of Industry and Trade (MIT). On behalf of the Serbian side, it was the Ministry of Internal and External Trade and Telecommunications that acted as the coordinator. In the meeting there were also actively involved other ministries whose leaders participated in the forefront of some of the Working Groups. The meeting was also attended by representatives of other governmental and non-governmental organizations and representatives of the Czech business sector. Strojírenský zkušební ústav, s.p. (SZU) was represented by Mr. Michal Dvoracek from Foreign cooperation Department, particularly in the Working Group “Industry, Energy and the Environment”. The Serbian party was headed in this Working Group by Mr. Dejan Trifunović - Advisor to the Minister of Energy, Development and Environmental Protection, while his Czech counterpart was Mr. Zdeněk Danielovský from MIT. Finally, the plenary meeting´s outcome was the signing of the intergovernmental Protocol, which inter alia refers to a readiness of SZU to cooperate with Serbian entities, and this outcome might be viewed within this developing collaboration certainly as a useful result.
